Warranty and returns in the EU
As with German retailers, EU retailers are obliged under EU law to repair or replace the goods purchased from them, reduce the price or refund the purchase price if the goods are faulty or defective.
In addition, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases and can return the goods to the retailer without giving reasons. You must bear the return costs yourself.
What are the return shipping costs within the EU?
As you have to bear the return costs yourself, this is something you should consider before ordering the goods. Particularly in the case of goods that are frequently returned (e.g. clothing), it is important to consider whether it makes sense to place an order in another EU country.
An insured parcel to another EU country costs at least 13.99 euros with DHL(see DHL EU shipping costs). The costs are the same for all EU countries with DHL.
Hermes charges from 9.90 euros (very small parcels), whereas a parcel in size S costs 13.90 euros(see Hermes EU shipping costs). Hermes distinguishes between different EU zones and has different prices depending on the destination country.
