How the calculator works
- Amazon itself as the seller: for delivery to Germany, Amazon charges German VAT. The calculator removes the VAT of the country of origin and adds the German VAT.
- Marketplace seller: the displayed price applies unchanged.
- Shipping: estimated shipping costs to Germany: €0.00 at Amazon.de, €5.04 at Amazon France, Italy and Spain. Marketplace sellers may charge more.
- VAT rates: Germany 19%, France 20%, Italy 22%, Spain 21%.

Legal guarantee and returns
The legal guarantee of at least two years applies throughout the EU. However, you make claims against the seller abroad, and returning an item abroad can cost postage that the calculator does not include. More on this in the guide Return costs in the EU.
