Ordering in the EU

What do I need to bear in mind when ordering from other EU countries?

Please note that you will have to pay higher shipping charges for orders abroad. Ordering a notebook in the UK, for example, can cost 20 – 35 euros for shipping. Amazon offers low-cost shipping as a seller, as described under“Order EU-wide – Amazon”.

Are there customs duties?

No. The movement of goods within the EU is generally free (more information at: zoll.de). Brexit could result in customs duties being charged on goods from the UK in the future.

How do I pay for orders in other EU countries?

If you order from Amazon, you can pay as usual, e.g. by direct debit. The situation is similar on ebay, where most merchants offer PayPal as a payment method. Outside of these marketplaces, credit cards or PayPal payments are common.
